Child's i Foundation
Fundraising interim support

Project overview
In 2024, we partnered with Child’s i Foundation to provide interim fundraising management support, ensuring continuity and strategic growth across multiple income streams. With fundraising targets spanning individual giving, regular giving, major gifts, events, and trust and foundation fundraising, the organisation required expert guidance to maintain a strong financial base and build on existing donor relationships.
Our work focused on delivering actionable, high-quality outputs that improved supporter engagement, streamlined processes, and strengthened fundraising performance.
How we approached it
Strengthening the trusts and foundations programme
We supported the trusts and foundations Programme by increasing the number of proposals submitted and developing a targeted funding strategy that prioritised core unrestricted support.
This approach focused on engaging previous funders and high-potential donors to maximise success rates, rather than spreading resources thinly on speculative applications. We also helped write and refine high-quality funding proposals, ensuring that the organisation had well-structured, compelling applications that could be used as templates for future funding bids.
By taking on hands-on bid writing and donor engagement, we helped the team secure new funding while also creating a smoother, more effective process for managing funding applications going forward.
Expanding individual and regular giving
To improve donor engagement and retention, we developed and executed a structured email marketing and digital engagement plan, ensuring that supporters were regularly updated, inspired, and encouraged to give. This included a full email marketing plan with pre-written templates for key supporter updates, donation appeals, and impact reports. We created call-to-action-focused email designs that linked to corresponding fundraising and impact pages on the website, optimised for conversions.
A key part of this work involved developing case studies, working with the team to refine compelling supporter stories and showcase the impact of donations. We also worked on social media and website content planning, ensuring key fundraising messages were aligned across platforms.
Fundraising events and campaigns
Together with another partner, we managed and executed the It Takes a Village Challenge challenge event by setting up the concept and webpage. We provided marketing and social media support, creating key messaging and graphics to promote the event. We also analysed campaign performance, tracking donations and engagement to assess effectiveness.
The result was just over £10k raised from 134 donations, more than doubling the amount raised in previous years. Notably, over two-thirds of donors were completely new to the organisation, significantly expanding the supporter base.
We also played a major role in the delivery of Child’s i Foundation’s most ambitious Big Give Christmas Challenge to date. Our contributions included developing a compelling fundraising proposition that was used to secure match funding. We designed and executed the email marketing campaign, including a pre-campaign warm-up sequence, launch emails, mid-campaign updates, and final push messaging.
A strong social media strategy ensured maximum visibility across multiple platforms. We also produced tailored donation page content that highlighted the urgency and impact of the campaign. The campaign raised just over £22k, nearly double what the organisation had raised the previous year, demonstrating significant growth in supporter engagement and giving levels.
Graphic design and campaign collateral
Beyond strategy and execution, we also provided graphic design support to ensure all fundraising campaigns were visually impactful and professionally presented.
Our design work included the 2024 Summer and Winter Impact Reports, communicating key achievements and donor impact. We produced a full collateral suite for the Big Give Christmas Challenge, including social media graphics, email banners, and donation page designs. We also created tailored donor proposals and fundraising brochures, helping Child’s i Foundation strengthen its case for support with high-value donors and funding partners.
